  • Objectives

    This course aims to help students transition smoothly into university life and grow into responsible adults.

    The main objectives include:

    1. Developing awareness of ethical principles.
    2. Introducing the rules and regulations that govern university life, including students’ rights and responsibilities within the university community.
    3. Preparing students for ethical practices in the professional world.
    4. Promoting respect for and recognition of intellectual property.
    5. Raising awareness about moral issues such as corruption and teaching ways to address and combat them.

    This course introduces students to the key concepts of ethics and deontology and their importance in academic and professional life. It focuses on understanding the rules, values, and responsibilities that guide behavior within the university and beyond.

    Students will explore:

    1. Key Concepts: Understanding the basics of morality, ethics, deontology, and law, and learning the differences between these terms.
    2. Cultural and Philosophical Foundations: How ethics is shaped by philosophy, religion, civilization, and institutional values.
    3. University Values: The social, community, and professional values that define academic life.
    4. Rights and Responsibilities: The rights and duties of students, teachers, and staff within the university setting.
    5. Building Relationships: Developing respectful and productive relationships among students, teachers, and staff.
    6. Best Practices: Practical guidelines for ethical and professional conduct in university life.
