This lecture provides a foundational exploration of Classical Control Theory, focusing on the analysis and design of feedback systems that operate in continuous time. The student will examine how mathematical models—primarily Linear Time-Invariant (LTI) differential equations—allows him to predict and manipulate the behavior of physical processes.
The session will cover the transition from time-domain modeling to the s-domain using the Laplace Transform, enabling the representation of complex systems through Transfer Functions.

Objective: By the end of this lecture, students will understand how to close the loop on an open system to achieve desired performance, robustness, and accuracy in the face of external disturbances.
