      Module summary

      This modue of English is composed of 7 courses/ conferences that deal with different themes of law. Intended in general, but also in variety, the first course is a general introduction to law. We then move on to the most well-known branches of law, including criminal law and labour law.. We will also focus on the topic of artificial intelligence, with its generalities and implications in law.

      Course 1 : The law : general notions

      This lesson introduces the students at the general notions of law

      Courses 2: Criminal law

      This lesson treats about the offenses and the pains

      1/ Definition

      2/ Categorization of Criminal law

      3/ The elements of the offense

      4/ Classification of the offense

      5/ Aggravating and mitigating circumstances

      Course 3: Artificial intelligence, generalities

      This lesson presents at students  the Artificial Intelligence as a field to study, not a simple tool.

      1/ AI, What is it? 

      2/ Birth and development of AI

      3/ Classification of AI

      4/ Dangers of AI

      Course 4: AI and law

      This lesson explains the different rapports between AI and law

      1/ Introduction: What relationship between AI and law?

      2/ Some legal uses of AI:

      a) AI and smart contracts

      b) AI and criminal law

      c) AI and labor law

      d) AI and justice

      3/ AI and Liability

      Course 5:  Individual labour law

      This course is an introduction to the labor law and individual labor relations

      Courses 6: collective labour law

      This course focuses on the collective aspect of labor law

    • Objectives and prerequisites

      Preamble

      Being the most influential language in the world, and one of the most widespread, the current national strategy in terms of studies and training is oriented towards the progressive learning of English by including it and/or in optimizing it in school and student programs. Thus, we hope that this first experience of hybrid teaching of legal English to Third year students will be fruitful.

      Prerequisites

      Have a minimum knowledge of the English language, particularly grammar and spelling. Being able to understand simplified language. An A1 level is sufficient to be able to follow the courses in this module.

      Objectives

      Allow students to know the legal lexicon in English. Train students in the use of legal language in English in their readings, research work, etc. Introduce students to teaching and assessment methods that are fun and informative at the same time.
