    • This section explains the basic definitions about a control system, essential components of it (plant, controller, sensors and actuators), as well as open loop vs closed-loop control (feedback) configurations. The chapter also discusses the basic goals of control like stability, nature of response and disturbance rejection; it provides an understanding about modeling continuous linear systems which is necessary to perform further analysis and design in latter chapters.
