    • The Control Systems Representation deals with the mathematical tools and methods for the modelling and description of the behaviour of continuous linear control systems. The book explains how differential equations are derived and used as the basic mathematical description of dynamic systems. It also introduces the Laplace transform as a powerful technique for converting differential equations into the algebraic domain. The chapter then introduces the concept of the transfer function as the ratio of output to input in the s-domain, the standard representation for linear time-invariant systems. It also introduces block diagrams and signal flow graphs as graphical tools for visualising system structure and simplifying complex interconnections . It provides the essential modelling framework needed for system analysis and controller design .
